A quick introduction. The main picture of the tug is from June 2008 before work began. After 3 years the shell is solid and the real fun begins.
The project, to create green energy for this tug, this will be 3 systems.
1, Solar water heater- This will be mounted on the roof and feed a twin coil water heater. This is not just installing a square box on the roof. It will be a custom installation following the curves of the roof, from deck level you wont know its there.
2, Solar panels this again will be custom and fit around the bulwarks at the front. These will charge batteries.
3, Bio-Diesel fuel production, in order to power the Rayburn. This will heat the boat and provide hot water during the winter. Bio-Dieseal will also power the backup generator.
This is the first post and I will try to post regularly, but more importantly I will post at key project stages. The next post will have photo of the current state of the tug including the work so far.
